Belt Promotion Test, Japan: Nepal Kyokushin-Seishin Kaikan Karate Association's International Achievement

Under the leadership of Shihan Ashok Kumar Shrestha, Nepal Branch Chief of Nepal Kyokushin-Seishin Kaikan Karate Association, Nepali karateka traveled to Japan in Ashoj 2071 to take part in the International Black Belt Promotion Test. Chief Instructor Sanju Maharjan achieved 4th Dan Black Belt and Instructor Rakhdev Potel achieved 3rd Dan Black Belt, representing Nepal at the event.

The International Black Belt Promotion Test is a globally recognized program conducted by WKKO-Japan (World Kyokushin Kai Karate Organization, Japan). The test awards black belt promotions up to 6th Dan and includes a full physical examination covering structure, kicks, punches, and stances, along with an assessment of technical skill and mental discipline. Successful candidates receive an official certificate from WKKO-Japan. The test is held annually in Japan with participation from Kyokushin karate associations worldwide.

Sanju Maharjan's achievement of 4th Dan reflects a high level of technical skill and training experience, while Rakhdev Potel's 3rd Dan promotion marks a significant contribution to the development of Nepali karate.

Shihan Ashok Kumar Shrestha, who led the Nepali delegation to Japan, holds a 6th Dan Black Belt from WKKO-Japan, has served as President of WKKO-Nepal since 2012, and is also Vice-President of the WKKO-Japan World Committee, maintaining a close affiliation with the World Kyokushin Kai Karate Organization, Japan.

This achievement at the International Black Belt Promotion Test in Japan marks an important milestone in the development of Nepali Kyokushin karate. Under Shihan Ashok Kumar Shrestha's leadership, Sanju Maharjan and Rakhdev Potel delivered outstanding performances, earning their respective black belt ranks and bringing recognition to Nepal on the international stage.
